On April 17, 2026, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş.

Shalva Papuashvili expressed his condolences to his Turkish counterpart over the tragic incidents that occurred in schools in Türkiye in recent days.

At the same time, the Speaker thanked Numan Kurtulmuş for the successful organization of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

During the meeting, the parties highlighted the importance of fruitful cooperation and the friendship between the peoples of Georgia and Türkiye.
